Subjects covered include: silviculture, Christmas tree maintenance, maple syrup production and sustainable forest management, as well as information on the safe and effective use of chainsaws and many other topics. A catalogue of our resource material is available at no cost. Providing technical advice on various aspects of production including integrated pest management, new technology, and Best Management Practices. Two experienced field technicians can provide expertise on various aspects, and they will be able to refer producers to a diversity of contacts including many experts in specialized fields. Offering education and information services to producers. A series of courses will be arranged and new ones developed so as to meet a diversity of current and anticipated needs in all areas of the province. Courses will include wildlife management, introduction to sustainable woodlot management and non-timber forest products, amongst other topics. Cooperating with forestry research agencies on forest product diversification and tree improvement. Participating actively in promoting and organizing field days and information sessions.
